City, Los Angeles, and Miami.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Senior
Accountant ensures the efficient operation of the general
accounting functions for all activities associated with the general
ledger. This position provides accounting expertise with
responsibilities in the areas of journal entries, month-end
closing, financial results analysis, budgets, cash flow projections
and control, accounts receivable, accounts payable. This position
also assists with producing timely and accurate financial reporting
for assigned investment portfolios including Hospitality,
Commercial and Residential properties. Reports and performs complex
professional accounting activities in compliance with applicable
standards and specifications.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Determines and
directs the appropriate accounting (recording) and/or disclosure
for complex business transactions or the implementation of complex
accounting rules.--- Post daily journal entries, accruals, and
closing adjustments.--- Review bi-weekly payroll and post
entries.--- Prepare bank, investment, and intercompany
reconciliations.--- Analyze fixed assets, record depreciation,
amortization, disposals, and prepare roll forwards.--- Approve
weekly A/P check runs and record all wire transfers.--- Review,
approve, and record annual recoveries for property tenants.---
Prepare financial reporting for outside tax preparation firms and
banks for debt compliance.--- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly
re-forecasted budgets as well as variance analysis.--- Prepare
balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis.--- Ensure
compliance with GAAP/IFRS and SEC accounting and reporting.---
Provide outside auditors supporting documentation and answer
related questions.--- Prepares formal written documentation of
analysis, conclusions and support for conclusions.--- Review month
end and quarter end close.--- Support and assist external auditor's
quarterly and annual reviews through development and analysis of
data requirements.--- Participates and/or leads special projects.
Provides well-developed professional expertise and decision-making
abilities.--- Position may be required to perform duties outside
their normal responsibilities as needed and when requested.---
Oversight and training of newly hired permanent or temporary
staff.--- Responsible for the set-up of any new acquisition which
includes, but not limited to:o Setting up work-paperso Assisting
with the proration true-upso Determining if there are any unusual
nuances to the acquisition that needs to be addressed or handled
differentlyo Coordinate initial set up with Management Company and
reviews allprocedures with regard monthly reporting.--- Assists
with property dispositions including prorations, true ups, and
final financials.--- Assists manager with monthly financial review
of property work-papers.--- Review of new loans for lender
reporting and debt compliance.--- Assists with coordinating and
tracking of SOX audit testingQUALIFICATIONS:--- Bachelor's Degree
in Accounting or Finance--- Public Accounting experience and/or CPA
preferred--- 3-5 years of Accounting experience--- Real Estate
Accounting experience preferred, but not required--- Firm
understanding of accounting rules for investments under U.S. GAAP
(required) as well as U.S. SEC regulations (preferred)--- Ability
to prepare financial statements and accompanying footnotes and
disclosures.--- Experience with IFRS and USALI a plus--- Strong
Analytical skills and ability to remain highly organized in a
deadline driven environment while maintaining strict attention to
detail.--- Ability to problem-solve and multi-task effectively---
Demonstrated ability to identify errors, problems and
opportunities--- Proven ability to meet daily and monthly
deliverables--- Must be able to work well independently and be
self-motivated--- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with
advanced working knowledge of ExcelWORK SCHEDULE:Hours in office:
