Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Workers Compensation Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care throughout their healthcare journey. This position involves verifying WC insurance, facilitating communication between healthcare providers and adjusters or attorneys, managing all aspects of WC claims, ensuring timely authorization and appeals. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma 2 years of WC experience in a medical practice (orthopedic experience preferred) Familiarity with EMR Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy Experience working with adjusters and attorneys Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) Responsibilities: Manage and track WC cases from initial visit through end of treatment Verify eligibility and benefits for injured workers Monitor claim status and ensure timely processing of PARs (level 1 to 3) Follow up on denied claims and initiate appeals when necessary Schedule Phone Depositions Serve as a primary liaison between the practice, adjusters, and attorneys Assist patients with understanding their claim status and required documentation Maintain accurate patient records and update the EHR as necessary Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
