We are currently looking for a Lead Diesel Technician to provide the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair and play a key role in the leadership, development and training of other technicians.Lead Diesel Mechanic Technician Duties:This position performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are metWorks on assignments requiring considerable judgment and will mentor other technicians on a regular basis.Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehiclesDiagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty proceduresRepair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignmentsReplace clutches & transmissionsYou Have:Completed technical school or equivalent experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic5+ years as a diesel technicianMay specialize in areas such as: refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple qualificationsExperience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractorsThe ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainerHand toolsAbility to work Tuesday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm and Saturday 8:00am-4:30pmYou Might Also Have:A valid CDL (Class A or B)Prior supervisory and/or leadership experienceWe Have:Competitive compensation: $34-$40 per hour + shift differentials + bonus pay for SaturdaysPaid Vacation and HolidaysComprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance with HRA, HSA, and FSA options401(k) with a company provided matchCompany-paid life insuranceEmployee Discounts and an Employee Assistance ProgramCareer Advancement Opportunities for Technicians at all levelsRobust in-person and online training programs, including NJ Emissions TrainingIf you are looking for a great, safe work environment, look no further.
