The Arc, Ocean County Chapter Inc. is currently offering a great
opportunity to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities!
Our agency is in need of an Assistant Director of Residential
Services to oversee a group of residential programs that provide
direct care to individuals with disabilities and medical needs
within Ocean County. The Assistant Director will be responsible for
management of 3-6 Residence Managers, approximately 40 staff, and
must be able to cooperatively work with the agency Registered
Nurses to manage the Nursing staff. The Assistant Director of
Residential Services will oversee the management of daily
activities within the community residences. They will assist in the
development of the Individual Service Plans and participate in
Interdisciplinary team meetings for all residents services. The
Assistant Director of Residential Services must have effective and
positive communication skills in order to interact with staff,
families, guardians, funding and regulatory agency personnel, and
other outside agencies in order to meet the needs of the
individuals served. They will also be responsible for evaluating
agency staff, interviewing and making other recruiting
recommendations for their programs, creating and overseeing the
schedules for each of their community residences. The Assistant
Director of Residential Services will participate in the emergency
coverage (on-call) rotation for residential programs and may need
to be flexible with their hours to meet the needs of the programs.

successful candidate will be 18 years of age or older, have a valid
New Jersey Drivers License, with no more than five points. Minimum
of two years of supervisory experience in the field of
Developmental Disabilities. A B.A. in Human Services, Special
Education or related area is required. This is not an entry level
position. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated and up
to date with vaccine status. Job Requirements:1. - - - Under the
guidance of the Director, complete varying tasks associated with
managing and overseeing Residential Services. As assigned, assist
the Manager/Coordinator in providing overall management of daily
activities of residents. Teach skills and guide the personal and
social development of each individual resident within the least
restrictive environment. Initiate and encourage recreational and
social activities. 2. - - - Responsible for the oversight of
residential programs; compliance and communication with regulatory
agencies. 3. - - - Maintains quality assurance in the programs
according to agency and DDD standards for client health and safety.
4. - - - Assist in the development of the Individual Service Plans
and annual goals, and participates in Interdisciplinary Team
meetings for the residents served. - Provide feedback in the
development of behavior plans and track progress of individuals
receiving services. 5. - - - Participates in on-call system and
will keep flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the program.
6. - - - Accurately reports incidents in a timely and comprehensive
manner. 7. - - - Maintain current written records and log
information relating to the program and individuals of the program.
8. - - - Assist in managing, supervising, monitoring and reporting
on program and client expenditures as well as other financial
activity as necessary. 9. - - - As assigned, plans for and supports
Residence Manager in all phases of staff recruitment; Communicates
recommendations to the Director of Residential Services for the
recruitment, hiring, evaluation and termination of staff. 10. -
Provide a home-like environment for all individuals receiving
services. - Ensure the overall health and safety as well as
security of the home and residents. 11. - Assist in ensuring that
each resident obtains any needed health/medical services, including
dental, psychological or pharmaceutical intervention. 12. -
Cooperate with all Agency, Department of Human Services, and/or
Department of Children and Families staff in any inspection or
investigation.
