revolutionizing cancer treatment through our proprietary cResponse™
functional drug sensitivity platform. Our technology enables
personalized treatment selection by testing patient-derived tumor
samples against multiple therapeutic options, empowering
oncologists to make data-driven treatment decisions. We are
establishing our first U.S. clinical laboratory in Philadelphia to
bring this transformative technology closer to American patients
and healthcare providers. Position Overview We are seeking an
experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead the establishment
and operation of a new CLIA-certified clinical laboratory in the
Philadelphia area. This is a foundational leadership role with the
unique opportunity to build our U.S. laboratory operations from the
ground up—including facility setup, equipment procurement, team
recruitment, and achieving regulatory certification. The ideal
candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise in histology
and molecular genomics with strong operational and people
leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Laboratory Setup &
Establishment • Lead the end-to-end setup of the new clinical
laboratory facility, from site selection through operational launch
• Develop laboratory design specifications and work with
architects/contractors to ensure optimal workflow and regulatory
compliance • Manage equipment procurement, installation,
validation, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) • Establish relationships
with key vendors and negotiate contracts for equipment, reagents,
and supplies • Develop and implement Laboratory Information
Management System (LIMS) and integrate with company systems •
Create comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all
laboratory processes • Develop project timelines and budgets for
laboratory establishment; track and report progress to leadership
Team Building & Recruitment • Define staffing requirements and
organizational structure for the laboratory team • Lead recruitment
efforts to build a high-performing team of laboratory scientists,
technicians, and support staff • Develop job descriptions, conduct
interviews, and make hiring decisions for all laboratory positions
• Create and implement comprehensive onboarding and training
programs for new hires • Establish competency assessment protocols
and ongoing professional development programs • Foster a
collaborative, quality-focused laboratory culture aligned with
company values • Manage performance evaluations, coaching, and
career development for team members Laboratory Operations &
Management • Oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory,
ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output • Manage
laboratory scheduling, workload distribution, and resource
allocation • Oversee inventory management, equipment maintenance,
and vendor relationships • Establish and monitor key performance
indicators (KPIs) for laboratory operations • Manage laboratory
budget and control operational costs Regulatory Compliance &
Quality Assurance • Lead CLIA certification process and maintain
ongoing compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory
requirements • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive
quality management system • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania
state laboratory licensing requirements • Prepare for and manage
regulatory inspections and audits • Oversee proficiency testing
programs and corrective action procedures • Maintain documentation
and records in accordance with regulatory standards Technical
Leadership • Provide expertise in histology techniques including
tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining • Oversee
molecular genomics workflows including nucleic acid extraction,
library preparation, and sequencing • Validate and implement new
assays and methodologies • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of
test results • Collaborate with R&D to optimize the cResponse™
platform for clinical applications Required Qualifications • Prior
degree and certification to direct a CLIA lab (e.g ASCP as MLS or
Ph.D etc) • Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience •
Demonstrated experience with CLIA certification and compliance
processes • Strong background in histology/histopathology
techniques • Experience with molecular genomics methodologies (NGS,
PCR, sequencing technologies) • Proven track record of building and
leading high-performing teams • Experience recruiting, hiring, and
developing laboratory personnel • Knowledge of Pennsylvania state
laboratory regulations • Experience with Laboratory Information
Management Systems (LIMS) • Excellent leadership, communication,
and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications • Previous
experience in a supervisory/management role in a clinical
laboratory • Prior experience establishing a new laboratory
facility or achieving initial CLIA certification • Experience in
oncology-focused or specialized reference laboratories • Track
record of successful laboratory build-out projects including
facility design and equipment procurement • CAP inspection
experience • Knowledge of functional drug sensitivity testing or
ex-vivo tumor models • Experience working with academic medical
centers or research institutions • Familiarity with precision
medicine and companion diagnostics • Project management
