ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Follow schedules that are subject to last minute changes. * Establish efficient routes for completing pick-up and drop-off of patients. * Operates vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with DOT Regulations. * Calmly and effectively manage unforeseen circumstances, such as medical emergencies. * Conducts vehicle emergency repairs; able to change tires and handle minor on-road maintenance. * Coordinates vehicle maintenance repairs. * Establishes and monitors daily and weekly trip inspection & preventative maintenance programs and maintains records regarding the maintenance of all vehicles. * Maintains cellular contact with office to respond to necessary route updates when appropriate. * Assists in activities and special programs as needed. * Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and respectful manner. * Upholds policies regarding passenger behavior * Other duties as assigned * Travel to other locations as requested
