Job Description:

scientific engagement? In this role, you will lead the strategy and
execution of scientific and capability training for US Medical
teams, translating priorities into action that improves the quality
and consistency of medical dialogue. You will build an environment

Your work will connect directly to patient impact by ensuring our
teams have the expertise and confidence to engage on the science
that matters most. Accountabilities: Capability Strategy: Define
and execute a multi-year capability strategy that advances
scientific excellence across field and office-based medical roles,
directly aligned to US Medical priorities. Training Program
Leadership: Lead end-to-end design and delivery of role-based,
scalable learning programs that address identified capability gaps
and elevate performance from day one. Content Excellence: Oversee
creation, review, and maintenance of high-quality scientific
training content aligned with therapeutic and portfolio priorities;
set a high standard for clarity, accuracy, and relevance. Learning
Platform Governance: Manage scientific materials in learning
platforms and uphold consistent metadata, version control, and
access standards to ensure the right content reaches the right
audience. Vendor Partnerships: Select, onboard, and guide external
partners to deliver innovative, cost-effective learning solutions
that meet business needs at scale. Budget Stewardship: Own program
budgets, forecast needs, and allocate resources to maximize
outcomes while maintaining financial discipline. Performance and
Continuous Improvement: Establish clear success measures, gather
feedback and analytics from the field, and drive ongoing
optimization of curricula and delivery methods. Stakeholder
Alignment: Collaborate closely with US Medical leadership to ensure
capability investments support strategy across therapeutic areas
and that training is embraced, adopted, and sustained. Compliance
and Standards: Ensure all activities align with the Code of
Conduct, regulatory expectations, and internal policies; model best
practices in scientific accuracy and governance. Essential
Skills/Experience: • 5 years Leading strategy, design, and
execution of scientific and capability training for MSLs and
medical field teams. • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to
understand capability gaps and learning priorities aligned to US
Medical strategy. • Build and implement training plans that elevate
scientific expertise across both field and office based medical
roles. • Oversee creation, review, and maintenance of high quality
training content aligned with therapeutic and portfolio priorities.
• Manage scientific content housed on learning platforms and ensure
adherence to compliance protocols. • Partner with vendors and
training providers to deliver high quality learning solutions at
scale. Operational Excellence • Manage program budgets and ensure
effective allocation of resources. • Establish and implement
performance measures to assess training effectiveness and
continuous improvement. • Collaborate closely with US Medical
leadership to ensure seamless alignment to medical strategy across
therapeutic areas. Compliance & Standards • Ensure all activities
align with AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct and relevant policies. •
Complete required compliance training and maintain standards for
content accuracy and regulatory adherence. Desirable
Skills/Experience: - Advanced degree in a scientific discipline
(PharmD, PhD, MD) or related healthcare field - Extensive
experience working with or leading MSL and medical field teams
within the US healthcare landscape - Expertise in adult learning,
instructional design, and modern learning ecosystems (LMS/LXP),
including content governance - Strong understanding of US medical
compliance, regulatory frameworks, and non-promotional standards -
Proven ability to implement capability frameworks and role-based
curricula across multiple therapeutic areas - Demonstrated use of
analytics and field performance insights to measure learning impact
and drive continuous improvement - Vendor management excellence,
including contracting, scoping, and budget optimization -
Influential leadership, stakeholder management, and change
leadership in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment When
